« The Gospel of John Questionary #2 | Main | more fun than writing »

You always go where angels fear to tread. I'm sure that Jesus was not thinking about buildings when he spoke about building his Ecclesia, or "Called-outs."

All of your questions are great... The only one I'll comment on is "how many hours of the week is a typical church building in use?"

The near-universal fixation on Sunday morning leads to all of this empty real estate suddenly being in use at the same time. For several years I went to a Messianic Jewish fellowship that met on Fridays and Saturdays. They were thus able to meet in churches when they weren't in use, and after the did get their own space, they shared it with Sunday-morning groups.

When time is open, suddenly space is too.
